Navigating Digital Transformation in Media, Public Relations, and Advertising
It’s a Brave New (Digital) World!
The phrase aptly captures the essence of today's communication media landscape, where digital technology has become an integral part of modern life. Its omnipresent nature has transformed every aspect of human experience, including family, education, information, livelihood, socialization, and entertainment, into mediated experiences. As a result, all sectors are undergoing a profound digital transformation, characterized by the seamless integration of technologies into operations. This multifaceted process encompasses digitization, digitalization, and technological integration.
Digital transformation has engendered many urgent questions: How is digital transformation being pursued in the communication media sectors? How are communication media processes, tools, and outputs revolutionized by artificial intelligence, large language models, algorithms, and similar innovations? Are communication practitioners equipped with new digital competencies? Are we preparing the next generation of communicators to be future-proof and adaptable in an increasingly digital world? Is ethics part of the digital transformation equation, ensuring technological advancements align with moral and societal values?
The AMIC 31st Annual Conference, scheduled on October 9-11, 2025, with the theme, Navigating Digital Transformation in Media, Public Relations, and Advertising, invites scholars, practitioners, and communication experts to converge and tackle the pressing challenges and opportunities arising from digital transformation.
